The School of Social Work (SSW) in the College of Human Sciences & Education (CHSE) at Louisiana State University (LSU) invites applications for an open-rank tenure-track position.
We are particularly interested in scholars with expertise in the area of Sport Social Work/Positive Youth Development, a rapidly growing social work sub-field that integrates athletic performance, mental health, and youth development. We encourage applicants that also consider sports in community development and with experience in conducting community-engaged research. The ideal candidate will demonstrate an ability to leverage LSU’s national leadership in athletics and health sciences to expand interdisciplinary research, increase externally funded grants, and enhance doctoral education, while also supporting LSU’s land grant mission through impactful community-engaged scholarship and service.
Required Qualifications: Applicants must hold a PhD in Social Work or related field. An LMSW or LCSW is required throughout the duration of the faculty member's employment. Preference will be given to candidates with a PhD and MSW with two years post-master's experience in professional social work practice or related field.
The appointment begins August 2026. Review of applications will continue until a candidate is selected with an initial priority review date of January 15, 2026.
